First 5 Humboldt Annual Community Report 2020

2020 was an incredibly difficult year for children, parents and families. Stress and anxiety unlike anything we were previously prepared for changed families’ daily lives. Uncertainty, unemployment, absence of our usual support systems, loss and grief upended family experiences in 2020. First 5 Humboldt’s staff and those of our funded programs were tasked with trying to retool services to provide support to Humboldt’s families in new ways. There was not one of our services that was not disrupted and then altered to try to mitigate the social, emotional and health impacts of COVID.
